About GeM seller registration

GeM is the national online marketplace where government buyers purchase common goods and services. Central ministries and departments, many state departments, PSUs, autonomous bodies and local bodies buy here. Under the General Financial Rules, purchases of up to ₹50,000 can be made directly from GeM, purchases of ₹50,000 to ₹10 lakh are usually made from the lowest-priced seller after comparing at least three, and larger purchases go through a bid or reverse auction on GeM. A seller account is your entry point to all of these.

Why it matters

Registration is free on the official portal, but the account is only as good as its details. Your business name, PAN, GST and bank details must match exactly, the right organisation type must be chosen, and the profile must be complete before buyers see you. Mismatches lead to failed verifications and delays, and some categories need a vendor assessment before you can list.

2. Account creation: we create the seller account with you, using OTP on the authorised person's Aadhaar-linked mobile.

4. Profile: office and factory addresses, tax details, contact persons and turnover details are entered.

After registration

A registered account does not bring orders on its own. Orders come from a complete catalogue, competitive prices and regular participation in bids. Once your account is live, we can upload your catalogue, apply for brand approval and help you take part in bids and reverse auctions.
